According to talkSPORT, Arsenal has no intention of considering offers for Jorginho.
Turkish Super Lig club Galatasaray is reportedly pursuing the midfielder as the deadline for their transfer window approaches on Friday, September 13.
Although the Premier League transfer window closed on August 30, various leagues outside England are still finalizing significant signings before their own deadlines.
For Galatasaray, who previously showed interest in other midfielders like Casemiro and Scott McTominay, the focus has now shifted towards Jorginho.
However, it has been made clear that Arsenal is not interested in letting the 32-year-old go.
Jorginho has been an integral player in Mikel Arteta‘s plans and is expected to continue playing a vital role as the season progresses.
Additionally, he signed a new short-term contract extension with Arsenal in May 2024, having joined the club in 2023.
While fans were initially uncertain about his signing, he has since established himself as a key player for the team.
With 52 appearances in all competitions, he has won over many supporters along the way.
After his new deal was confirmed, Arteta highlighted what makes the former Chelsea player so valuable:
« We’re thrilled that Jorgi has signed a new contract with us, » he stated. « He is a crucial part of our team, a role model with excellent leadership qualities and a unique style that enhances the performance of those around him. »
Jorginho himself echoed Arteta’s sentiments, stating that making the decision to stay with the club was straightforward for him.
« There wasn’t much to discuss, to be honest, » he remarked. « I feel very comfortable here. Knowing that they appreciate me and want me to remain is a significant factor. I believe there is still more for me to contribute, which is why I’m staying. »
« That acknowledgment is meaningful. It’s one of the reasons for signing the contract because I feel I can, and I want to, give more in return for the affection and support I’ve received. All I want is to reciprocate that. »
Jorginho continued, « I strive to give everything I can. Sometimes it’s a hug, other times it’s words of encouragement or guidance. I simply want to assist in every conceivable way. I want everyone to know they can count on me; I’ll always be there for them. »
