According to talkSPORT, Liverpool is set to initiate discussions with Mohamed Salah regarding a new contract in the near future.
Following his goal in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday, Salah stirred speculation by suggesting it could be his final appearance at Old Trafford in a Liverpool jersey. Salah’s statement caused quite a stir.
Despite Salah’s comments, Liverpool officials remain calm and are expected to meet with the Egyptian star’s representatives soon.
Sources indicate that Salah is content living in Merseyside and is eager to continue with the club beyond the current season, when his contract expires, despite speculation linking him to a lucrative transfer to Saudi Arabia.

During his interview after the match against Manchester United, where he both scored and assisted, Salah made headlines.
In his remarks to Sky Sports, he noted: « I had a good summer and had a long time to stay positive because, as you know, this is my last year at the club. I want to enjoy it and not dwell on it. I’m here to play football freely and we’ll see what happens next year. »
He continued, « Going into today’s game, I thought it might be the last time I play here. Nobody at the club has approached me about a new contract, so I’m just focused on this season and will assess things at the end. It’s not solely up to me; no one has discussed a new deal yet. We’ll see. »
Liverpool icon Graeme Souness discussed Salah’s future post-match, hinting that Salah may have made plans to leave. He shared his thoughts on talkSPORT, stating, “I believe he may have already decided on his future.”
Speaking on talkSPORT with Jim White and Simon Jordan, Souness said, “I truly believe he’s already made his decision. He likely has something lined up.”
He elaborated, « It seems like his comments may not have been conveyed in the manner he intended, as he attempted to clarify them later in the Sky interview. »
Salah is celebrated as a modern-day Liverpool legend, with an impressive record of 214 goals and 92 assists in 352 appearances. This season alone, he has three goals and three assists in just three games.
