Terence Crawford has showcased his talents before large audiences over the years, but nothing quite like the spectacle he faced on Saturday.
The pound-for-pound boxing champion had the honor of leading out the Nebraska Cornhuskers, his hometown team, during a significant college football game.
A packed Memorial Stadium, with 86,906 fans in attendance, cheered on Crawford‘s beloved Cornhuskers as they faced off against the Colorado Buffaloes in a crucial matchup.
The former undisputed welterweight champion carried a different type of belt while accompanying the Huskers together with their 1994 national championship team.
At first glance, it appeared to be one of his boxing victories, but upon closer inspection, it was evident that the belt was special, featuring the team’s logo.

Footage from the event captures Crawford sprinting out of the tunnel alongside the players as they improved their spotless early season record to 2-0.
The Huskers delivered a strong defensive performance, clinching a 28-10 victory and avenging last year’s 36-14 defeat against Colorado.
After the game, Crawford took to social media to share a collection of pictures and videos, captioning it: “Today was a good day!!! GO BIG RED!!!”
His comment section quickly filled with reactions from American football fans.
One user wrote: “I knew it was over when I saw Terence walk ’em out.”
Another responded: “This needs to be framed with the final score for the living room.”
A third added: “We knew we were in trouble when you came out with the belt, Champ.”
Crawford is currently relishing a well-deserved break after securing a world title in his fourth weight class by defeating Israil Madrimov in a light middleweight championship fight.
At 36, he saw his impressive 11-fight knockout streak, which had begun in 2016, come to an end as he earned a contentious unanimous decision against the previously unbeaten fighter from Uzbekistan.
Canelo Alvarez was anticipated to be next, contingent on a victory, but His Excellency Turki Alalshikh has indicated that the Mexican star turned down the proposal.
Consequently, the Saudi boxing chief announced that he is no longer interested in organizing the fight and will instead consider pairing Crawford against undefeated American talent Vergil Ortiz Junior.
Crawford clearly has plenty of options ahead. Even Ryan Garcia recently referred to him as an ‘overhyped bum,’ expressing a desire to challenge the Nebraska native to validate his claims.
Only time will unveil who Crawford will face next as he defends his pristine 41-0 record.
